Five men-an Egyptian imam, three Moroccans, and a Syrian-were arrested for planning to drive a vehicle into a crowded market in the Dingolfing-Landau area. The plot was in its early stages and was uncovered thanks to strong cooperation between Bavaria&#8217;s security services. The Egyptian suspect was an imam at a mosque in the Dingolfing-Landau district, according to multiple reports. German officials <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c2dz7r708dxo\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleged<\/a> he &ldquo;called for a vehicle attack &hellip; with the aim of killing or injuring as many people as possible.&rdquo; The Moroccan suspects allegedly agreed to carry out the plot and were encouraged and supported by the Syrian suspect &ldquo;in their decision to commit the crime,&rdquo; according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n<p>Bavarian State Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann stated that the Central Unit for Combating Extremism and Terrorism of the Munich Public Prosecutor General&rsquo;s Office and Bavaria&rsquo;s Office for the Protection of the Constitution collaborated to foil the plot, which was <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/2025\/12\/15\/german-police-arrest-five-men-over-christmas-market-attack-plot\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">described<\/a> as being in its early stages.
