They simply plow ahead and keep winning.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, for fairness&rsquo; sake, one must occasionally take note of a remarkable achievement against all odds.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/approval\/trump-obama-bush-second-term\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClear Polling<\/a>, President Donald Trump&rsquo;s second-term approval rating has consistently exceeded that of former President Barack Obama in 2013, the first year of Obama&rsquo;s second term.<\/p>\n<p>The same holds true, incidentally, for Trump and former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/turns-george-w-bush-outscored-gavin-newsom-sat-whopping-25-percent-say-libs-called-bush-dumbest-president-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George W. That rating remained largely steady, hitting 48 percent in July. By November, however, Bush&rsquo;s approval rating had sunk as low as 38 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Early in 2013, Obama enjoyed an approval rating north of 52 percent. By December, however, that number had fallen to around 40 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Trump opened 2025 with a 51 percent approval rating that has fallen to 44 percent currently.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, all three presidents began their second terms with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-years-disillusion-joe-biden-on-track-to-end-2023-with-inglorious-honor\/\" title=\"Biden set to conclude 2023 with dishonorable distinction\">approval ratings higher<\/a> than 50 percent. Only Bush and Obama, however, experienced double-digit declines in their approval ratings.<\/p>\n<p>The real story, of course, involves Trump&rsquo;s superior poll numbers compared to those of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/veteran-journalist-calls-obamas-charlie-kirk-comments-nothing-short-stunning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Obama<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After all, analyses have shown that the establishment media subjected Trump to somewhere between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrc.org\/node\/90399\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">92 percent<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/rich-noyes\/2024\/09\/18\/despite-shooting-abc-cbs-and-nbc-blast-trump-95-bad-press\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">95 percent<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-thanks-wapo-for-correcting-latest-media-travesty-blasts-legacy-media-for-acting-like-political-entities\/\" title=\"Trump Thanks WaPo For Correcting \u2018Latest Media Travesty,\u2019 Blasts Legacy Media For Acting Like \u2018Political Entities\u2019\">negative coverage<\/a> both before and during his second term.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/obama-proves-stuck-past-offers-desperate-defense-legacy-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Obama<\/a> hilariously defended the establishment media.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I actually think &mdash; I actually think that the mainstream news still does a very good job of just presenting facts,&rdquo; Obama said with a straight face. &ldquo;I think cable, regardless of the cable station, has fallen prey to the same economic imperatives that we&rsquo;re seeing in every other type of news, which is, you are deliberately controversial, deliberately aggressive, deliberately trying to make people feel angry and aggrieved, because that attracts attention.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>If the media fawned over me and my administration for eight years, I would defend it, too.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if the media attacked or lied about me 95 percent of the time, I would also dismiss it as &ldquo;fake news.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The truly remarkable thing about those approval numbers is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dont-believe-lying-anti-trump-polls-reality-just-beat-obamas-first-term-approval-numbers-rasmussen\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=westernjournalism&amp;utm_campaign=dlvrit&amp;utm_content=square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> has bested Obama nearly every day since July&nbsp;<em>despite&nbsp;<\/em>all that negative coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans, of course, endured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/charlie-proud-turning-point-helps-deliver-huge-bright-spot-arizona-tough-election-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lousy results<\/a> during the 2025 elections. The party as a whole, therefore, must get its act together.<\/p>\n<p>The fact remains, however, that Trump&rsquo;s approval rating consistently exceeds those of his predecessors.
