This initiative is part of the Trump administration&#8217;s &#8220;Make America Healthy Again&#8221; campaign, led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The expansion was announced by Agricultural Secretary Brooke Rollins alongside Kennedy and CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz. The Department of Agriculture <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/snap\/waivers\/foodrestriction\">provides some flexibility<\/a> through waivers, with different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-dept-of-education-preparing-to-probe-schools-not-enforcing-masks\/\" title=\"Biden Dept. of Education preparing to probe schools not enforcing masks\">states banning<\/a> different foods and drinks from being purchased with SNAP. For example, Arkansas &ldquo;Restricts purchase of soda, fruit and vegetable drinks with less than 50% natural juice, unhealthy drinks, and candy,&rdquo; while West Virginia only bans SNAP from being used to purchase soda.<\/p>\n<p>States that signed the waivers are provided with extra SNAP funds in exchange.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3904687\/brooke-rollins-snap-funding-21-blue-states-data\/\">TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO WITHHOLD SNAP FUNDING FROM 21 BLUE STATES IF THEY DON&rsquo;T PROVIDE DATA<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;As the six documents here that were signed by Secretary Rollins today would attest, there&rsquo;s a lot of interest in this; you get paid extra money,&rdquo; Oz said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>With the addition of six new states, a total of 18 states have signed the pledge.
