Discovery (WBD) succeeds. Paramount Skydance,owner of CBS,is competing against Netflix,which initially outbid Paramount with an $82.7 billion offer to buy WBD. Colbert&#8217;s show on CBS was canceled earlier this year due to financial losses, with the final episode slated for May 2026. Paramount&#8217;s bid is partially supported by $24 billion from Middle Eastern investors and backed by a private equity firm led by Jared Kushner.
