The Pentagon will also provide no-cost training for GenAI.mil to all Department of War employees, per the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There is no prize for second place in the global race for AI dominance,&rdquo; Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering Emil Michael said in a statement. &ldquo;We are moving rapidly to deploy powerful AI capabilities like Gemini for Government directly to our workforce. AI is America&rsquo;s next Manifest Destiny, and we&rsquo;re ensuring that we dominate this new frontier.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump has been spearheading a massive effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/12\/08\/trump-ai-policy-gop-united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">expand<\/a>&nbsp;AI across the nation during his second presidency. He unveiled a Jan. 23 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/removing-barriers-to-american-leadership-in-artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">executive order<\/a> intended to eliminate &ldquo;barriers to American Leadership&rdquo; in AI.<\/p>\n<p>The latest announcement comes after the White House unveiled an &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Americas-AI-Action-Plan.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AI Action Plan<\/a>&rdquo; in July, which aims to help the U.S. &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >achieve global dominance&#038;rdquo<\/a>; in AI. Trump also unveiled a July 23 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/07\/preventing-woke-ai-in-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">order<\/a> aiming to prohibit &ldquo;woke&rdquo; AI in the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett told CNBC in November that AI is generating a &ldquo;quiet time&rdquo; in the U.S. job market.
