AllredS decision comes amid the expected Senate candidacy of fellow Democrat Jasmine Crockett, who currently represents the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >30th congressional district<\/a> in Dallas-a district that remains Democratic-leaning despite recent redistricting. On the Republican side, candidates John Cornyn, Ken Paxton, and Wesley Hunt are competing for their party&#8217;s nomination, with Paxton holding a slight lead.<\/p>\n<p>Allred stated that a contentious Democratic primary and runoff could weaken the party&#8217;s unity against the Republican nominees and their allies, leading him to withdraw from the Senate race. Beto O&rsquo;Rourke each at 25 percent, while Allred garnered 13 percent backing.<\/p>\n<p>In a head-to-head against just Talarico, Allred led Tallarico 46 to 42 percent, with 12 percent undecided.<\/p>\n<p>On the Republican side, incumbent Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/three-johns-could-replace-mitch-mcconnells-senate-leadership-spot-as-race-begins-to-heat-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Cornyn<\/a>, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt are duking it out to be their party&rsquo;s nominee.
