The record-setting spending day made 2025 Cyber Monday the &ldquo;biggest online shopping day of all time&rdquo; in U.S. history, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/johnkoetsier\/2025\/12\/02\/cyber-monday-2025-biggest-online-shopping-day-of-all-time\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to <\/a><em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/johnkoetsier\/2025\/12\/02\/cyber-monday-2025-biggest-online-shopping-day-of-all-time\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Forbes<\/a><\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Retail Federation, nearly 60% of the country&rsquo;s population participated in the online shopping bonanza during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend (including Cyber Monday). There was a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/us-online-spending-surges-442-billion-during-five-day-holiday-shopping-adobe-2025-12-02\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">record<\/a> 202.9 million U.S. shoppers during the period, up from last year&rsquo;s total of 197 million American consumers.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This year&rsquo;s record turnout reflects a highly engaged consumer who is focused on value, responds to compelling promotions, and seizes upon the opportunity to make the winter holidays special and meaningful,&rdquo; Matthew Shay, CEO of the NRF, told <em>Reuters<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Cyber Monday remains the biggest online shopping day of all time, as shoppers took advantage of competitive discounts in categories such as electronics (peaking at 31% off listed price), toys (28%), apparel (25%), computers (23%), television (22%), furniture (19%), appliances (19%), and sporting goods (17%),&rdquo; Adobe Analytics <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.adobe.com\/news\/2025\/12\/adobe-cyber-monday-hits-record\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">found<\/a> in its analysis of online shopping data.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3902268\/black-friday-and-thanksgiving-online-shopping-hit-record-highs\/\"><strong>BLACK FRIDAY AND THANKSGIVING ONLINE SHOPPING HIT RECORD HIGHS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to online shoppers, traditional retail sales increased on the Thanksgiving weekend, with 129.5 million shoppers making purchases at brick-and-mortar stores. This total represented a 3% rise from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, there was a 7.7% increase in online purchases during Thanksgiving weekend compared to 2024.
