At the time of the election, Carpenter was on her national &ldquo;Short n&rsquo; Sweet&rdquo; tour. However, while performing at Seattle&rsquo;s Climate Pledge Arena on Nov. 6, 2024, she expressed her disappointment in the election results.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I hope we can be a moment of peace for you, a moment of safety,&rdquo; Carpenter <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/sabrina-carpenter-seattle-sorry-about-our-country-presidential-election-1235822197\/\">said at the time<\/a>. &ldquo;Sorry about our country and to the women in here, I love you so so so so so much, and I really hope for the rest of this night that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The video from the White House follows its pattern of posting videos with popular songs. The 1969 song &ldquo;Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye&rdquo;&nbsp;by the band Steam <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3371528\/white-house-illegal-immigration-deportations-music-video-hey-hey-goodbye\/\">was used in a recent video<\/a> compilation of deportations. Nancy Wilson of the band Heart took issue with her song &ldquo;Barracuda&rdquo; being used <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3442727\/musicians-attacking-trump-ice-raids-army-parade-shakira-trump\/\">during the military parade this summer<\/a>. Last year, Bruce Springsteen <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/magazine-washington-briefing\/3177363\/booed-in-the-usa\/\">condemned the Trump campaign&rsquo;s use<\/a> of his songs.<\/p>\n<p>In one rare occurrence, the Trump administration removed a video after a complaint from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/entertainment\/3821782\/theo-von-asks-dhs-not-include-him-deportation-video\/\">Theo Von<\/a>, who admitted that the hate he received for being in a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/entertainment\/3869055\/theo-von-says-being-featured-in-dhs-video-made-him-scared\/\">Department of Homeland Security video<\/a> was &ldquo;scary&rdquo; and caused him to be &ldquo;paranoid.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Von spoke out against the post in the hours after it was posted, insisting he &ldquo;didn&rsquo;t approve to be used in this.&rdquo; His X post has since been deleted, along with DHS&rsquo;s video.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/3843924\/taylor-swift-new-album-maga-cancel-culture\/\"><strong>IS TAYLOR SWIFT A MAGA GIRL NOW?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The White House has stood by using Carpenter&rsquo;s song amid its social media campaign.
