This statement counters claims made by robert F. Kennedy Jr. and recent confusing language changes on the CDC website regarding vaccine safety and autism. The alliance emphasizes reliance on credible, science-based public health guidance rather than conspiracy theories or outdated beliefs. The alliance highlights vaccines as crucial tools in preventing infectious diseases and expresses concern over misinformation. Historically, doubts about vaccine safety stem from a discredited 1998 study linking the MMR vaccine to autism, which was retracted due to ethical violations. The alliance encourages public trust in vaccines to protect communities from serious illnesses.

West Coast Health Alliance issues update on vaccine safety

(The Center Square) – The West Coast Health Alliance has taken an official stance on the safety and efficacy of vaccines, reaffirming they do not cause autism.

A recent press release from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office announced that the alliance was countering the position taken by Robert F.
