Special agents with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation&rsquo;s Wytheville Field Office were sent to Turner&rsquo;s home last Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Police emphasized they were not traveling to the home to arrest Turner, <a href=\"https:\/\/katv.com\/news\/nation-world\/virginia-high-school-football-coach-travis-turner-goes-missing-amid-undefeated-season-appalachia-virginia-state-police-union-high-school-wise-county\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KATV<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wjhl.com\/news\/local\/vsp-search-continues-saturday-for-wise-co-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WJHL<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>While the agents were on the way to his home, they were notified that Turner was no longer at the residence.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia State Police spokesman Jason Day said the search has centered around the area near Turner&rsquo;s home.<\/p>\n<p>Drones, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/donations-pour-k-9-hero-wounded-line-duty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">K-9<\/a> units, and bloodhounds from multiple agencies were deployed.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We have had the drones up in the air looking, searching,&rdquo; Day said. He noted that bad weather had limited aviation support.<\/p>\n<p>Turner has not been located, and state police said the investigation remains open.<\/p>\n<p>Wise County Schools confirmed Friday that a staff member had been placed on administrative leave with pay while an &ldquo;external agency&rdquo; reviews an allegation reported to the district.<\/p>\n<p>Officials did not identify the staffer, saying the leave did not imply wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>Turner&rsquo;s wife, Leslie Caudill Turner, wrote in a now-deleted post Friday night that her husband was &ldquo;missing and that&rsquo;s all we know.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Turner has coached at Union High School since 2011.
