The dismissal followed a request from Peter Skandalakis,who took over the case after the original district attorney,Fani Willis,was disqualified. Skandalakis stated that dropping the charges woudl serve the interests of justice and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/9-11-mastermind-khalid-sheikh-mohammed-may-get-plea-deal-escape-death-penalty\/\" title=\"9\/11 Mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed May Get Plea Deal, Escape Death Penalty\">judicial finality<\/a>. The case had been the last criminal proceeding against Trump related to the 2020 election challenges after other federal indictments were dismissed. in Donald Trump indictment.\">sweeping racketeering case<\/a> against President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> and several of his allies, which accused them of attempting to overturn the 2020 election result in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/georgia\/\">Georgia<\/a>, on Wednesday after the new prosecutor on the case requested the charges be dropped.<\/p>\n<p>McAfee granted the request to dismiss shortly after Peter Skandalakis, director of the Prosecuting Attorneys&rsquo;
