The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Muhammad ali International Airport, resulting in the deaths of all three crew members on board and 11 people on the ground, with 23 others injured. The report revealed that the plane&#8217;s left engine detached mid-flight due to fatigue cracks and structural failure in the engine pylon, which had last been inspected in October 2021 and was not scheduled for another inspection until 28,000 flights. Following the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration prohibited further flights of the MD-11 until inspections are completed.
