Paxton added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This recent investigation adds to a list of efforts from Paxton to push back on the CCP&rsquo;s inroads in Texas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Prior to the order, Paxton&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-investigates-whether-major-tech-company-allowing-chinese-government\">targeted<\/a>&nbsp;TP-Link, a major CCP-linked networking equipment manufacturer, and&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-investigates-security-camera-company-potential-ties-chinese-communist\">investigated<\/a>&nbsp;the security camera company Lorex Technology for selling data-capturing cameras to the CCP.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Paxton <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-takes-legal-action-against-chinese-companies-violating-texans-privacy\">identified<\/a> several Chinese companies that allegedly violated Texans&rsquo; data privacy rights in May.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The investigations follow the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/capitol.texas.gov\/tlodocs\/87R\/billtext\/pdf\/SB02116I.pdf\">Lone Star Infrastructure Protection Act<\/a>, enacted by the state legislature in 2021, which prohibited businesses from entering into agreements that would grant a Chinese-controlled business direct or remote access to critical Texas infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton&rsquo;s efforts to counter CCP-linked products that have made significant strides in the United States ties into a national push from President Donald Trump&rsquo;s administration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A previous <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> analysis of member roster sheets found that the Nuclear Energy Institute &mdash; the nation&rsquo;s largest energy lobbying firm &mdash; has a relationship with Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations and Management Company, or DNMC, a CCP linked nuclear company barred from the United States under Trump&rsquo;s first administration over allegations of espionage and theft of U.S. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nuclear-power\/\">nuclear<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/technology\/\">technology<\/a> for China&rsquo;s military.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/3838333\/does-nuclear-energy-institute-include-chinese-controlled-nuclear-firm\/\">OPINION: DOES THE NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE INCLUDE A CHINESE-CONTROLLED NUCLEAR FIRM?&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the Department of War <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3470756\/chinese-military-companies-1-million-lobbying-congress-this-year\/\">uncovered<\/a> that <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3487576\/cloud-partnerships-chinese-state-industry-american-data-security\/\">Chinese<\/a> military companies have spent over a million dollars to lobby Congress this year alone, allowing them to maintain their position in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3401641\/jp-morgan-bofa-elon-musk-entangled-catl-china\/\">American markets<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;China exploits our open and democratic processes for their <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3438474\/congress-stock-trading-china-national-security-assets-linked-ccp\/\">military<\/a> advantage,&rdquo;
