I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jMAlYEozQ6\">pic.twitter.com\/jMAlYEozQ6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Senator Mark Kelly (@SenMarkKelly) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenMarkKelly\/status\/1993025671757807746?\">November 24, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>By &ldquo;this,&rdquo; Kelly meant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/listen-trump-tells-brian-kilmeade-thinks-hegseth-military-courts-already-looking-6-seditious-dems-calling-servicemen-disobey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump and Hegseth&rsquo;s<\/a> justifiable response to the senator&rsquo;s likely sedition.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Kelly joined five other elected Democrats in posting a video designed to stir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democrats-accused-encouraging-military-coup-coordinated-message-armed-services-personnel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insurrection<\/a> in the military. In that video, the Seditious Six urged intelligence professionals and military service members to disobey &ldquo;illegal&rdquo; orders.<\/p>\n<p>Those Democrats, however, cited no examples of such orders. That, of course, made their purpose clear. They intended to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-scott-jennings-chews-dems-genuinely-shocking-call-military-disobey-orders-foment-insurrection-ranks-military\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">undermine Trump&rsquo;s legitimacy<\/a> by encouraging anti-Trump service members to draw a distinction between the president and the Constitution&rsquo;s authority &mdash; a distinction impossible in the absence of specific &ldquo;illegal&rdquo; orders.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-seditious-sen-slotkin-cant-point-illegal-military-order-trump-brings-tom-cruise-movie-instead-can-dems-get-disgraceful\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elissa Slotkin<\/a> of Michigan, one of the Seditious Six, later admitted that no such &ldquo;illegal&rdquo; orders existed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-calls-arrest-seditious-democrats-sent-coordinated-message-military-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> reacted with the outrage befitting a duly elected commander in chief.<\/p>\n<p>Hegseth&rsquo;s uniform-related chastisement of Kelly, of course, made for good theater. Hopefully, it left the Democrat senator seething.<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of War&rsquo;s more substantive response, however, came in a follow-up post less than an hour later.<\/p>\n<p>In that second post, Hegseth called the Democrats&rsquo; sedition video &ldquo;despicable.&rdquo; He added that it &ldquo;may seem harmless to civilians &mdash; but it carries a different weight inside the military.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Crucially, Hegseth labeled that video a &ldquo;politically-motivated influence operation.&rdquo; It &ldquo;never named a specific &lsquo;illegal order&rsquo;;&nbsp; &ldquo;created ambiguity rather than clarity&rdquo;; &ldquo;used carefully scripted, legal-sounding language&rdquo;; and &ldquo;subtly reframed military obedience around partisan distrust instead of established legal processes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The military already has clear procedures for handling unlawful orders,&rdquo; he wrote. &ldquo;It does not need political actors injecting doubt into an already clear chain of command.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Hegseth concluded by accusing &ldquo;the Seditious Six&rdquo; of &ldquo;sowing doubt through a politically-motivated influence operation. With one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-got-pardons-watch-mailboxes-trump-pardon-attorney-warns-j6-committee-members-rest-hoaxers-justice-coming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hoax<\/a> after another, they have undermined both his constitutional authority and the will of the electorate. Their unhinged &ldquo;fascist&rdquo; and &ldquo;Nazi&rdquo; rhetoric has placed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/stunning-new-study-shows-lefts-assassination-culture-hit-disturbing-levels-trump-musk-targeted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">literal targets<\/a> on his back and the backs of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rogan-celebration-charlie-kirks-brutal-murder-shows-headed-civil-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">supporters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At some point, prominent Democrats must pay for the damage they have caused. In civilian life, we cannot criminalize political speech. Nor should we. But the military has different rules.
