This effort aims to end the ongoing civil war in Sudan, which began in April 2023 between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). While the RSF accepted the ceasefire, the Sudanese army has been critical of the proposal, viewing it as biased and insisting that the RSF must be fully disbanded for any peace to be valid.<\/p>\n<p>The ceasefire announcement follows a new report from Amnesty International accusing the RSF of committing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-americans-have-spent-161-5-million-housing-suspected-terrorists-at-guantanamo-bay\/\" title=\"...: Americans Have Spent 1.5 Million Housing Suspected Terrorists At Guantanamo Bay\">war crimes<\/a> in Darfur&#8217;s El Fasher city, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thousands-feared-killed-after-rsf-takes-last-saf-stronghold-in-darfur\/\" title=\"Thousands feared kil... after ... takes last ... stronghold in Darfur\">including mass executions<\/a> of civilians and widespread sexual violence.The UN also accused the RSF of atrocities after they seized the city. Victims&#8217; testimonies describe brutal attacks against unarmed civilians, with <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >death toll estimates reaching<\/a> at least 2,500.<\/p>\n<p>These developments follow U.S. efforts, notably by former President Donald Trump and Middle Eastern partners, to stabilize Sudan and end the conflict. The U.S. was joined by <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/saudi-arabia\/\">Saudi Arabia<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/egypt\/\">Egypt<\/a>, and the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/united-arab-emirates\/\">United Arab Emirates<\/a> in peace talks between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Reuters\/status\/1993278493229224322?s=20\"> said<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the RSF <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3878559\/sudanese-rapid-support-forces-agrees-us-humanitarian-ceasefire-proposal\/\">agreed to the U.S. proposal<\/a> of a humanitarian ceasefire. Sudan&rsquo;s army, on the other hand, did not issue a definitive response to the proposal until this week.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came one day after top SAF Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan rejected the ceasefire proposal, citing bias due to the UAE&rsquo;s involvement. Sudan has accused the mediator of arming the RSF, but the UAE denied the accusations.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Abu Dhabi called out the Sudanese general for demonstrating &ldquo;consistently obstructive behavior&rdquo; in peace negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Burhan called the proposal, presented by a U.S. official, the &ldquo;worst document yet&rdquo; because it eliminates the military, dissolves security agencies, and maintains the RSF&rsquo;s power without disarming the group. The army chief maintained that the only path to peace is to fully eradicate the RSF.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I want everyone to know that any negotiations that do not lead to the elimination of this militia are invalid,&rdquo; Burhan said on Sunday, later adding, &ldquo;The militia is no longer welcome among Sudanese people, and I don&rsquo;t think anyone believes it will have any future role in Sudan.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The latest developments come after Trump <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3892792\/trump-arab-leaders-end-sudanese-civil-war\/\">said he would move<\/a> to end the Sudanese civil war while meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman last week.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We will work with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and other Middle Eastern partners to get these atrocities to end, while at the same time stabilizing Sudan,&rdquo; he wrote on <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115577964949117047\">Truth Social<\/a>, concluding the message with, &ldquo;GOD BLESS THE WORLD!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Burhan thanked the U.S. and Saudi Arabia for restating their commitment to ending the war but urged the four mediators to &ldquo;come with a positive and proper approach&rdquo; to the peace proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Hours after the RSF announced the three-month ceasefire, human rights group Amnesty International <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2025\/11\/sudan-el-fasher-survivors-tell-of-deliberate-rsf-killings-and-sexual-violence-new-testimony\/\">released a report<\/a> detailing the extent of the militia&rsquo;s war crimes in the Darfur city of El Fasher.<\/p>\n<p>After the RSF <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3868966\/thousands-feared-killed-western-sudan-splitting-country\/\">seized control<\/a> of El Fasher in western Sudan late last month, the United Nations <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3887408\/un-war-crimes-investigators-el-fasher-massacre-sudan\/\">accused the paramilitary<\/a> of committing mass killings and other atrocities. Amnesty said among the war crimes committed were executions of unarmed men and sexual violence against girls and women.<\/p>\n<p>In compiling the report, Amnesty interviewed 28 survivors of the siege at El Fasher. One of them was a 34-year-old man named Khalil, who escaped the city on Oct. 27 but was intercepted by RSF militants. In the group of 20 men with whom he was traveling, 17 were killed. Khalil only survived because he played dead.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The RSF were killing people as if they were flies,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;It was a massacre. None of the people killed that I have seen were armed soldiers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3896608\/sudan-leader-scoffs-us-ceasefire-proposal\/\">SUDAN LEADER SCOFFS AT US CEASEFIRE PROPOSAL<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The estimated death toll ranges from at least 2,500 civilians to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3875070\/rsf-commander-civilians-killed-el-fasher-massacre-sudan\/\">possibly thousands more<\/a>.
