Mamdani insisted.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani&rsquo;s campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1iGn9ws9Ds0x_3kkB1tdM2pxLlbkPtT0k\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">platform<\/a> nevertheless said that he would seek to &ldquo;shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He defended the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/socialist-mamdani-wont-stop-asking-supporters-redistribute-wealth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policy<\/a> over the summer before successfully clinching the Democratic nomination.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That is just a description of what we see right now. It&rsquo;s not driven by race. It&rsquo;s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,&rdquo; he said of the policy in June, per a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/29\/us-news\/zohran-mamdani-doubles-down-on-plan-to-target-richer-and-whiter-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> from the New York Post.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve seen time and again that this is a property tax system that is inequitable. It&rsquo;s one that actually Eric Adams ran on, saying that he would change in the first 100 days,&rdquo; Mamdani added.<\/p>\n<p>The successful campaign of Mamdani occurred on the basis of support from the non-white ethnic groups of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/beyond-parody-promising-new-yorkers-free-stuff-mamdani-begging-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani had a 20-point lead over former New York Gov.
