Initial plans included around 1,000 homes, a mosque, a community center, and a school, aiming to create an Islamic-oriented neighborhood. per a report from <a href=\"https:\/\/texasscorecard.com\/local\/islamic-focused-epic-city-rebrands-as-the-meadow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas Scorecard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Meadow&rdquo; was chosen to &ldquo;better describe the beautiful property and the inclusive, family-centered, mixed-use, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/would-you-want-to-live-in-californias-next-disney-themed-subdivision\/\" title=\"Would You Want To Live In California\u2019s Next Disney-Themed Subdivision?\">master-planned community<\/a> being designed,&rdquo; according to Chaudhary.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Scorecard noted that the original plans for the 400-acre community included 1,000 homes, a mosque and community center, a school, and other elements to foster an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/woman-islam-event-tears-off-hijab-next-attendees-furious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Islamic<\/a> enclave.<\/p>\n<p>Potential future residents were able to buy lots in the town, with plans for expansion due to the popularity of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Texas state agencies and the federal Department of Justice had investigated EPIC City for possible violations of the law.<\/p>\n<p>But the developers of EPIC City insisted to authorities that anyone will be welcome to purchase property.<\/p>\n<p>The controversial project in Texas, where two-thirds of residents identify as Christians, comes after increased <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pastor-speaks-muslims-take-chapel-dallas-airport-block-entering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Islamic<\/a> immigration to the Lone Star State in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>There were 313,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/worldpopulationreview.com\/state-rankings\/muslim-population-by-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">known<\/a> Muslims in Texas as of 2020, composing just over 1 percent of the state population.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Republican Gov.
