Crooks, 20, shot Trump in the ear, missing a fatal shot but killing rally attendee Corey Comperatore rather. This was the first assassination attempt on a former or current U.S. president as 1981. FBI Director Kash Patel stated the inquiry was a top priority from day one of Trump&#8217;s second administration and involved over 480 agents. He also pointed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/liquor-company-asks-consumers-not-to-buy-its-rittenhouse-rye-brand-to-celebrate-kyle-rittenhouse-verdict\/\" title=\"Liquor Company Asks Consumers Not to Buy Its \u2018Rittenhouse Rye\u2019 Brand To Celebrate Kyle Rittenhouse Verdict\">extensive video footage<\/a>, financial accounts, and social media account sweeps the agency conducted.<\/p>\n<p>Patel and Bongino addressed the public&rsquo;s concerns over a lack of information about the case, which had led to social media conspiracies and unanswered questions.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My predecessor went to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/congress\/\">Congress<\/a> and said he didn&rsquo;t know if it was a bullet that hit President Trump in the head. The whole world knew it was a bullet,&rdquo; Patel said, referring to former FBI Director Christopher Wray. &ldquo;For the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3101262\/fbi-confirms-trump-hit-by-bullet-whole-fragmented\/\">No. 1 law enforcement officer to say that<\/a> &mdash; it causes a massive disbelief in the institution that Dan and I are now running.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Bongino attempted to quell any conspiratorial concerns from the public in the interview with Fox.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We have reviewed this case over and over, looked into every nugget. We have spoken to the families, the president &mdash; there is no cover-up here,&rdquo; Bongino said. &ldquo;There is no motive for it, there is no reason for it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Patel, Bongino, and a third anonymous official involved in Fox&rsquo;s interview also dispelled rumors that a foreign entity was involved in the attempt, saying they had reached out to foreign governments and concluded that there was &ldquo;no foreign connection&rdquo; in the case.<\/p>\n<p>As for the current status of the investigation into Crooks, the anonymous FBI official told Fox, &ldquo;If we get a credible lead, we&rsquo;ll continue to investigate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The director has been very clear about leaving no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manti-teo-posts-video-reacting-to-documentary-detailing-catfishing-scandal\/\" title=\"Manti Te\u2019o Posts Video Reacting To Documentary Detailing Catfishing Scandal\">stone left unturned<\/a>, and that is what we are committed to,&rdquo; the official said.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3887251\/fbi-denies-saying-thomas-crooks-no-online-footprint\/\">FBI DENIES SAYING THOMAS CROOKS HAD NO ONLINE FOOTPRINT.
