Though, 7-Eleven terminated her employment, citing company policy prohibiting employees from carrying weapons on the job due to liability concerns. Officers later learned the two incidents were connected.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson was arrested and charged with assault and battery, trying to pass a fake bill, a felony warrant for a parole violation, and threatening acts of violence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">INJUSTICE? This is Oklahoma, a stand-your-ground state.<\/p>\n<p>Criminal defense attorney Ed Blau explained 7-Eleven&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/makes-u-s-uncompetitive-funds-favored-industries-friends-analysts-rip-bidens-infrastructure-plan\/\" title=\"Makes U.S. \u2018Uncompetitive,\u2019 Funds \u2018Favored Industries, Friends\u2019: Analysts Rip Biden\u2019s Infrastructure Plan\">corporate policy<\/a> that led to the employee&rsquo;s dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They do not want all of their employees packing heat while working all over the country. That presents a tremendous liability risk for them,&rdquo; he told KOKH.<\/p>\n<p>Dilyard set up her own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/support-stephanie-dilyard-after-job-loss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a>, telling her story about the incident and her life as a mother.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Police say it&rsquo;s self defense and I went home, only to get a call Monday morning from 7Eleven HR saying I was fired for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-marine-corps-commanders-using-form-letter-to-deny-religious-exemptions\/\" title=\"Exclusive: Marine Corps Commanders Using Form Letter to Deny Religious Exemptions\">violating policy<\/a>,&rdquo; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;For over 2 years I worked overnight from 11pm-7am with the same company, at the same location, but my days didn&rsquo;t end then, I would come home and be with our 3 year old while my <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >boyfriend works blue-collar<\/a>,&rdquo; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Dilyard explained why she armed herself on the job.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;As many already know, us overnight clerks are by ourselves. We have no security, and we are not allowed to carry self defense weapons, including [mace].<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;However, working conditions, it was not realistic for me to be able to follow policy AND be able to go home to my kids if a situation happened.
