This is a moment where we reclaim this, our country.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have been sounding bullish about the Dec. 2 special election to fill <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tennessee\/\">Tennessee&rsquo;s<\/a> Seventh Congressional District seat, despite the area&rsquo;s strong tilt toward Republicans. The seat was vacated over the summer by former Rep. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/rep-mark-green\/\">Mark Green<\/a> (R-TN), who retired after winning reelection in 2024 by over 20 percentage points.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The race is &ldquo;the most competitive race in America,&rdquo; Behn said during a speech before Harris arrived.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There appeared to be a level of <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/nashvillebanner.com\/2025\/11\/18\/nashville-democrats-special-election-kamala-harris-aftyn-behn\/\">unexplained tension<\/a> at the rally, according to the<em> Nashville Banner<\/em>, which reported Behn did not reference Harris and left the event before the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-kamala-harris-ends-french-diplomatic-foray-with-a-little-shopping\/\" title=\"Watch: Kamala Harris Ends French Diplomatic Foray with a Little Shopping\">vice president arrived<\/a>. And while she urged attendees to vote Democratic in the special election, Harris also did not mention Behn by name during her speech.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the event, Van Epps weighed in on Harris showing up to back his rival, saying Behn would lose the race just as the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ucla-student-government-passes-stipend-to-compensate-undocumented-students\/\" title=\"UCLA Student Government Passes Stipend To Compensate Undocumented Students\">vice president lost<\/a> her presidential campaign <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\">last year<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Tennesseans rejected Kamala one year ago, and two weeks from today we&rsquo;ll reject radical Aftyn Behn,&rdquo; Van Epps said<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MattForTN\/status\/1990898747073581340\"> in a post<\/a> to X.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Seventh Congressional District includes Stewart, Montgomery, and Robertson counties, as well as large chunks of Davidson and Williamson counties.<\/p>\n<p>While the district is solidly Republican, Democrats hope to ride the blue wave of victories they saw during the New Jersey and Virginia elections <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\">earlier this month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/26197691\/tn-07-workbench-strategy-for-aftyn-beh-oct-2025.pdf\">internal polling<\/a>&nbsp;from Democrats&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kirk_bado\/status\/1983516293778022525?s=20\">has Behn<\/a>&nbsp;within 8 to 10 points of her Republican opponent, which she said places her in &ldquo;striking distance.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3890294\/judge-blocks-national-guard-troop-deployment-in-memphis\/\">JUDGE BLOCKS NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT TO MEMPHIS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, political experts have cast doubt on whether a final victory is within Democrats&rsquo; grasp.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Does that trend continue to eat into some of the lead the Republicans have? Yeah, it almost surely will.
