The AP claimed that identical signatures indicated the pardons were not personally signed by Trump.Though, Trump’s aide Will Scharf denied the allegations, affirming that Trump personally signed the pardons. A Justice Department spokesperson explained that the duplicate signatures cited by the AP resulted from a technical error during document handling.

The article contrasts this with the Biden governance’s documented extensive use of an autopen to sign thousands of pardons and executive orders, allegedly to mask President Joe Biden’s declining mental capacity. It highlights reports and investigations revealing that over half of Biden’s pardons were autopen-signed, pointing to a broader scandal ignored or downplayed by the media. The piece concludes that the AP’s attempt to manufacture scandal over Trump’s pardons is hypocritical and politically motivated, especially given their previous coverage protecting Biden.

The Associated Press inadvertently dunked on itself and spotlighted its shameless hypocrisy by manufacturing a sham autopen controversy involving President Donald Trump.

The clown show unfolded Friday, after the left-wing outlet published a story claiming Trump’s Nov. 7 presidential pardons were done via an “autopen,” On Friday, the left-leaning news agency published a story alleging that Trump’s signatures on several pardons were identical and not personally signed. The AP cited two handwriting experts who claimed the signatures matched exactly. Shortly after, the administration replaced those documents with new ones featuring different signatures. This accusation came as Trump criticized the Biden administration for allegedly using an autopen extensively to sign thousands of pardons and executive orders without his direct approval, supposedly to conceal mental decline.

In response, Trump aide Will Scharf called the AP report “100% fake news,” stating that Trump personally signed eight of the nine pardons in question and hand-signed the ninth in front of team members. Justice Department spokesman Chad Gilmartin explained that identical signatures resulted from a technical error where one signature was mistakenly uploaded multiple times due to staffing issues caused by a government shutdown. White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson emphasized that Trump signs each pardon by hand and criticized media for focusing on this non-issue instead of investigating Biden’s widespread use of an autopen.

The AP’s attempt to manufacture outrage over one day’s worth of alleged autopen use pales compared to Biden’s record number of autopenned pardons-over half during his term-according to research groups and congressional reports suggesting aides acted without Biden’s consent amid concerns about his mental fitness.

Overall, this episode highlights how biased coverage can distort facts: while Biden faces serious questions about autopen usage over years, the AP tried-and failed-to create scandal around a single day involving Trump

[50842,51873,34247,3634
post-2511428","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-ap-2","tag-autopen","tag-fake-news","tag-trump
["GET
