she said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Trump administration has located more than 24,400 of these children in-person, in the United States, through visits and door knocks,&rdquo; McLaughlin continued.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve jumpstarted our efforts to rescue children who were victims of sex and labor trafficking by working with our state and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >local law enforcement partners<\/a> to locate these children. President Trump and Secretary Noem are laser-focused on protecting children and will continue to work with federal, state, and local law enforcement to reunite children with their families,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The new effort to protect children began Monday in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The release noted that in 12 states &mdash; Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas &mdash; sponsors of unaccompanied children have been arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsors have been charged with various types of assault, rape, domestic violence, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Republican Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/press\/rep\/releases\/new-hhs-data-confirms-biden-harris-admin-placed-tens-of-thousands-of-migrant-children-with-unvetted-sponsors-declined-recommended-home-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chuck Grassley<\/a> of Iowa noted that thousands of unaccompanied children were placed in unvetted homes under the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My oversight continues to expose disturbing evidence that the Biden-Harris administration turned a blind eye to tens of thousands of kids who needed proper supervision and care,&rdquo; he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s appalling to prioritize speed and optics over the safety and wellbeing of children,&rdquo; Grassley said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I appreciate the Trump administration&rsquo;s efforts to undo the damage caused by the last administration&rsquo;s failed border <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dhs-sec-kristi-noems-new-operation-dirtbag-netted-150-illegal-migrant-sex-offenders-democrats-want-protect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policies<\/a>, and I&rsquo;ll continue my oversight of the issue to ensure abuse like this never happens again,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Grassley&rsquo;s office revealed that 11,488 migrant children were placed with sponsors who did not have a background check and who were not fingerprinted.
