Hobbs is in statistical ties with top Republican contenders, including Rep. Andy Biggs and businesswoman Karrin Taylor Robson. Biggs is the leading republican candidate, holding 50% support in the GOP primary and favored to challenge Hobbs in the general election, with a close hypothetical matchup showing Hobbs at 44% and Biggs at 43%. Robson and Rep.David Schweikert also have notable support but trail behind Biggs and Hobbs.

The poll highlights challenges for hobbs, who has a <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/david-m-drucker-trump-got-little-love-at-gop-24-kickoff-from-a-party-sick-of-losing/" title="David M. Meanwhile, Biggs positions himself as a candidate focused on addressing rising energy costs, job growth, and affordable housing, criticizing Hobbs’s progressive policies.

President Donald Trump has endorsed both Biggs and Robson in the GOP primary. With Arizona voters showing signs of GOP support and dissatisfaction with Hobbs, the race for governor in 2026 is shaping up to be highly competitive.

Democratic Arizona Gov. In addition, Republican Rep. Andy Biggs, a former chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, is the clear Republican favorite to advance to the general election against Hobbs, according to the poll.

In a hypothetical matchup between Biggs and Hobbs, the incumbent took 44 percent support while Biggs received 43 percent, a difference well within the poll’s margin of error. The survey, released Friday, indicates Hobbs is in a statistical tie with two of the three Republican candidates vying for Arizona’s 2026 governor’s race. Among Republicans, Representative Andy Biggs-a former leader of the conservative House Freedom Caucus-is the clear frontrunner to challenge Hobbs in the general election. In a hypothetical contest between Biggs and Hobbs, the incumbent holds 44% support while Biggs has 43%, which falls within the poll’s margin of error. Additionally, 13% of respondents remain undecided.

Republican businesswoman Karrin Taylor Robson also trails closely behind Hobbs with 42% support compared to her 43%, with 15% undecided in that matchup. Robson previously ran for governor in 2022 but narrowly lost the primary to Kari Lake. Both Biggs and Robson have received endorsements from former President Donald Trump.

In another hypothetical race against Republican Rep. David Schweikert, Hobbs leads slightly at 44% versus Schweikert’s 40%, just outside the margin of error; here, 16% are undecided. Biggs dominates among GOP primary voters with half supporting him compared to Robson’s 17% and Schweikert’s 8%. One-quarter remain uncertain about their preferred candidate.

Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted that Biggs is currently favored for the Republican nomination due to strong backing from older voters and Trump supporters. Biggs emphasized his campaign focuses on key issues like rising energy costs and affordable housing-criticizing Hobbs’ progressive policies as contributing factors-and vowed to defeat her in next year’s election.

Trump won Arizona by over five points in 2024; meanwhile, Hobbs’ approval rating stands at just under water (39%) with a disapproval rate at about 40%. Her tenure has been marked by controversies including threats against Mohave County officials over election certification delays and a campaign finance scandal involving alleged pay-to-play arrangements tied to foster care funding increases shortly after her election victory.

The Arizona Capitol Times reported that although legal under state law exceptions established nearly ten years ago, Governor Hobbs has accepted donations from special interests without disclosing donor identities-including $100,000 from a major public utility company used for legal defense against lawsuits related to her previous opponent Kari Lake.

Campaign offices for Hobbs, Robson, and Schweikert did not immediately respond for comment regarding these findings.

The Emerson College poll surveyed 850 active registered voters between November 8-10, 2025; it carries a margin of error of ±3.3%.

—

If you want me to shorten or adjust this further or focus on specific parts let me know!

https://www.westernjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Ben-Working-Feature-Image-2025-11-14T193315.507.jpg
[33651
4472,4912,55867,15638,8313
post-2510885","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-arizona","tag-democrat","tag-katie-hobbs","tag-polls","tag-reelection
https://www.westernjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Ben-Working-Feature-Image-2025-11-14T193315.507.jpg
["GET
