Andy biggs, endorsed by the late Turning Point USA (TPUSA) co-founder Charlie Kirk, is closely trailing Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) by just one point in the 2026 Arizona gubernatorial race. Hobbs holds a narrow 44% to 43% lead over biggs, with both candidates within the poll&#8217;s margin of error. Another Republican contender,Karrin Taylor Robson,also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-makes-pit-stop-at-ufc-290-following-las-vegas-rally\/\" title=\"Donald Trump visits UFC 290 after Las Vegas rally.\">trails closely<\/a> behind Hobbs.<\/p>\n<p>biggs appears to be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination, garnering 50% support among Arizona Republican primary voters, compared to 17% for Robson. Both Republicans have been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, who praised them as strong contenders.<\/p>\n<p>TPUSA&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-live-donald-trump-to-speak-at-concerned-women-for-america-leadership-summit\/\" title=\"LIVE: Donald Trump addressing Concerned Women for America Leadership Summit\">influence remains significant<\/a> in Arizona politics following Kirk&#8217;s assassination in September.the conservative group recently supported a successful recall campaign against Mesa City Councilwoman Julie Spilsbury, a Republican who had endorsed Democrats Kamala Harris and ruben Gallego. The governor sits at 44%, compared to the congressman&rsquo;s 43%. A one-point lead is also true for Hobbs in her hypothetical matchup with conservative attorney Karrin Taylor Robson, with a 43-42% margin.<\/p>\n<p>When matched with Hobbs, Biggs and Robson remain within the poll&rsquo;s 3.3% margin of error as both vie for the GOP nomination. The Republican candidates are both endorsed by President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a>, who couldn&rsquo;t decide between the two, calling them both &ldquo;fantastic&rdquo; contenders against Hobbs.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP nomination will likely be secured by Biggs, who received 50% support among 381 Arizona Republican primary voters who answered the Emerson College survey. By contrast, only 17% of the respondents backed Robson in the primary.<\/p>\n<p>Biggs has another advantage: He was endorsed by TPUSA co-founder <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/charlie-kirk\/\">Charlie Kirk<\/a> in May. Kirk was fatally shot in September. In the two months since his death, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-18-states-still-let-dudes-dominate-girls-sports\/\" title=\"Exclusive: 18 ...s Still Let Dudes Dominate Girls&#039; Sports\">conservative organization&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s platform has substantially grown.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Very honored to have the endorsement of [Kirk] and [Turning Point Action] for Arizona Governor!&rdquo; Biggs <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/andybiggs4az\/status\/1923412378244301319\">posted on May 16<\/a>. &ldquo;We are going to reclaim Arizona greatness and bring our state back to what it should be.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> contacted TPUSA for comment on its recent efforts in the gubernatorial race following Kirk&rsquo;s assassination.<\/p>\n<p>TPUSA&rsquo;s influence <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3866092\/turning-point-usa-tests-post-kirk-influence-arizona-recall-effort\/\">was tested<\/a> last week in a municipal Arizona election, which saw Mesa City Councilwoman Julie Spilsbury lose her seat to Dorean Taylor in a recall vote. Despite her affiliation with the Republican Party, Spilsbury endorsed former Vice President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\">Kamala Harris<\/a> and Sen. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ruben-gallego\/\">Ruben Gallego<\/a> (D-AZ) in the 2024 elections. Meanwhile, Taylor&rsquo;s campaign was heavily promoted by TPUSA because of the Republican candidate&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >strong conservative values<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The high-profile endorsement likely contributed to Taylor&rsquo;s victory over Spilsbury.
