Rand Paul of Kentucky and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joined Democrats in trying to pass a Senate resolution last week aimed at putting an end to the strikes, according to Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/two-republicans-vote-dems-senate-gop-spikes-bid-block-trumps-strikes-drug-smuggling-boats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>. The resolution failed.<\/p>\n<p>Governments from abroad have also attacked the policy. The United Nations High Commmissioner for Human Rights has called the strikes &ldquo;extrajudicial killing,&rdquo; as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/alleged-drug-boat-strikes-trump-admin-must-stop-un-human-rights-chief-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a> reported Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>In his statements to reporters, Rubio sounded a defiant note.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think that the European Union gets to determine what international law is.
