This extension, granted through Thursday night, maintains an earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-justice-breyer-suggests-vaccines-masks-would-prevent-100-of-coronavirus-infections\/\" title=\"Fact Check: ... Breyer Suggests Vaccines, Masks Would Prevent 100% of Coronavirus Infections\">administrative stay<\/a> initially put in place by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who dissents from the extension. The Department of Justice requested this continuation, arguing that reallocating funds without proper authority interferes with political processes aimed at ending the government shutdown. Briefing in Pennsylvania Lawsuit to Flip the Election\">lower court&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s order for the&nbsp;Trump administration&nbsp;to use child nutrition funds to fully fund&nbsp;Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program&nbsp;benefits, as the House of Representatives is expected to pass legislation to reopen the government as soon as Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The unsigned order from the high court extends an administrative stay initially <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3879415\/trump-asks-supreme-court-halt-order-issue-full-snap-benefits\/\">granted by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on Friday<\/a>, which was set to expire late Tuesday evening, through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday. The lower chamber of Congress is widely expected to pass that legislation to end the shutdown and send it to President Donald Trump&rsquo;s desk, ending the shutdown as soon as Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court&rsquo;s extension of the administrative stay should be long enough for the shutdown-ending legislation to be signed into law, and moot the lower court&rsquo;s order to use child nutrition funds for SNAP.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3881812\/doj-asks-supreme-court-to-halt-raid-on-child-nutrition-funds-for-snap\/\">DOJ ASKS SUPREME COURT TO HALT &lsquo;RAID&rsquo; ON CHILD NUTRITION FUNDS FOR SNAP AS SHUTDOWN DEAL ADVANCES<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Pam Bondi <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/agpambondi\/status\/1988384652139053245?s=46\">celebrated<\/a> the high court&rsquo;s order Tuesday, thanking the high court for preventing &ldquo;further judicial upheaval for the SNAP and Child Nutrition programs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Thank you to the Court for allowing Congress to continue its swift progress to end the shutdown WITHOUT last-ditch disruption from lower courts.
