Last weekend, SNAP benefits lapsed for the first time in our nation&rsquo;s history,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;This is a problem that could have and should have been avoided.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-instructs-feds-find-ways-continue-providing-snap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> administration has asked the First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to overturn the order.<\/p>\n<p>McConnell on Thursday gave prominence to a  post from President Donald Trump, who wrote that benefits &ldquo;will be given on only when the Radical Left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pollsters-snap-chaos-schumer-shutdown-totally-backfired-democrats-country-beginning-shift\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> open up government, which they can easily do, and not before!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He asserted that the post marked defiance of his order to pay the benefits promptly.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Without SNAP funding for the month of November, 16 million children are immediately at risk of going hungry,&rdquo; he said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/judge-orders-trump-administration-fully-fund-snap-benefits\/story?id=127273708\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC<\/a>. &ldquo;Children are immediately at risk of going hungry.
