Bishop, a conservative former congressman, may begin serving in this role on an interim basis pending Senate confirmation. Earlier this year, he was confirmed by the Senate for his OMB position. Bishop has advocated for significant reforms within the Department of Justice&#8217;s Civil Rights Division (CRD), criticizing its selective enforcement and ideological biases. His agenda includes addressing issues such as enforcement of Title IX, election integrity, government censorship, and diversity initiatives. margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1291600752\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bishop was already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/03\/26\/congress\/senate-confirms-dan-bishop-to-no-2-spot-at-trumps-budget-office-00250593\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confirmed<\/a> by the Senate in a 53-45 vote earlier this year for the No. 2 spot at OMB.<\/p>\n<p>After last year&rsquo;s election, Bishop wrote in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/20\/how-trump-can-convert-a-key-identity-politics-agency-into-a-tool-for-equality-under-the-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">these pages<\/a> about the need for dramatic reform at the Department of Justice&rsquo;s Civil Rights Division (CRD), a vision <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/09\/to-execute-the-trump-agenda-dojs-civil-rights-division-cannot-be-stuck-understaffed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared<\/a> by that division&rsquo;s leader, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.<\/p>\n<p>The CRD is notorious for attracting the worst of the worst that the far-left legal movement has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>Dhillon has detailed active attempts to thwart the mandate of elected Republican presidents among the attorneys of what she described as the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dojs-the-civil-rights-division-cannot-be-understaffed\/\" title=\"DOJ&#039;s The Civil Rights Division Cannot Be Understaffed\">color revolution wing&#038;rdquo<\/a>; of the DOJ, the &ldquo;crying sessions,&rdquo; and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop noted CRD&rsquo;s selective targeting of political opponents, such as Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;CRD also whipsaws municipal police and jails and school systems with pattern and practice investigations &mdash; stymying disciplinary and enforcement practices in some and condemning the chaos resulting from disciplinary neglect in others,&rdquo; he wrote. &ldquo;The division signals its abortion fervor with harsh FACE Act prosecutions for obstructing abortion clinics but acts sparingly and lightly on threats and vandalism against pregnancy counseling centers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>From reforming warped enforcement of sex discrimination under Title IX to establishing elections with integrity, and from <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >ending government censorship<\/a> to doing away with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Bishop&rsquo;s drive seems fully in line with the drive to restore the Department of Justice in the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>As U.S. attorney, he will be in charge of all federal law enforcement in the Middle District of North Carolina.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Breccan F.
