The transaction is set to close in the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Kimberly-Clark&rsquo;s shares were down 12.5% in premarket trading on Monday morning, while Kenvue&rsquo;s shares were up 18%, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/03\/kimberly-clark-to-acquire-kenvue.html\">according to<\/a> CNBC.<\/p>\n<p>The merger comes as the acetaminophen drugmaker faces scrutiny from the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/trump-administration\/\">Trump administration<\/a> and a lawsuit from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/texas\/\">Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Health and Human Services Secretary <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/robert-f-kennedy-jr\/\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> announced Tylenol was a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3819271\/trump-takes-aim-childhood-vaccines-press-tylenol-autism\/\">likely cause<\/a> behind the rise in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/autism\/\">autism<\/a> since the early 2000s and encouraged pregnant women to refrain from taking the pain reliever.<\/p>\n<p>Following the federal warning, Texas became the first state to sue the Tylenol<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3866002\/ken-paxton-tylenol-lawsuit-trump-administration-autism-ties\/\"> maker<\/a> over its possible links to autism and ADHD. Paxton argued Johnson &amp; Johnson &ldquo;fraudulently transferred its Tylenol-related liabilities to Kenvue&rdquo; in an effort &ldquo;to shield its ill-gotten assets from the families they harmed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Tylenol and its ties to autism have been the subject of numerous lawsuits in recent years.
