The poll, conducted from October 24 to 28, found that 48% of likely voters support Mamdani, 32% back Cuomo, and 16% favor Republican Curtis Sliwa, with 3% undecided.If Sliwa were to drop out, Mamdani&#8217;s lead would increase further. Mamdani previously won the Democratic primary decisively against Cuomo and others, surprising many political observers. Cuomo, representing a centrist alternative and supported by traditional Democratic figures, struggles to gain momentum, even after incumbent Mayor Eric Adams ended his reelection bid. Sliwa has resisted calls to exit the race, rejecting suggestions that his candidacy indirectly aids mamdani. Three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-trump-leads-biden-in-2024-presidential-matchup\/\" title=\"...: Trump ...s Biden in 2024 Presidential Matchup\">percent remain undecided<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If Sliwa were to drop out of the contest, as he has been urged to do, Mamdani would receive the backing of 51% of likely voters compared with 44% for Cuomo, the Marist poll wrote.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The poll echoes<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2025\/06\/24\/us\/elections\/results-new-york-city-mayor-primary.html\"> surveys<\/a> that similarly project an easy victory for Mamdani, whose decisive win in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-gives-cities-more-power-to-ban-homeless-camps-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Supreme Court gives cities more power to ban homeless camps ... Washington Examiner\">city&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s Democratic primary over Cuomo and other contestants earlier this year shocked many political pundits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo has the backing of more traditional Democratic figures and is viewed as the centrist alternative to Mamdani.
