The memo described the January 6 crowd as &#8220;a mob of rioters&#8221; and linked former President Donald Trump to the 2023 doxxing of Obama&#8217;s address, noting that Trump had published Obama&#8217;s purported address on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald ...\">social media<\/a>.The memo, approved by U.S.Attorney Jeanine Pirro, recommended more than two years in prison for Taranto.<\/p>\n<p>Pirro, who has expressed nuanced views on the events of January 6-condemning violence but suggesting most protesters were peaceful-has stood by Trump&#8217;s interpretation of those events. Taranto had previously been pardoned by Trump for his involvement in January 6 but faces sentencing related to the firearms charges. It remains unclear whether the prosecutors were given reasons for their suspension, which followed shortly after submitting the memo. The memo also ascribed some type of culpability for the doxxing of Obama&rsquo;s address to Trump, saying, &ldquo;On June 29, 2023, then former president Donald Trump published on social media platforms the purported address of former President Obama,&rdquo; <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MacFarlaneNews\/status\/1983544708816355734\">according to<\/a> CBS News.<\/p>\n<p>The document was signed off on by U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia&nbsp;Jeanine Pirro.<\/p>\n<p>Pirro has largely stood by Trump&rsquo;s interpretation of the events of Jan. 6, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/pirro-refuses-to-criticize-trump-pardons-for-capitol-rioters-despite-past-j6-condemnation\/\">saying she has<\/a> &ldquo;publicly condemned the violence and called for those responsible to be held to account,&rdquo; <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/FOXNEWSW_20210103_080000_Justice_With_Judge_Jeanine\/start\/438\/end\/540\">while suggesting<\/a> the vast majority of protesters and Trump supporters in Washington, D.C., that day did nothing wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Reports noted it was unclear if Valdivia or White were given a reason for their suspensions when the two men were locked out of their government devices hours after they filed the sentencing memorandum in Taranto&rsquo;s case.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Taranto was one of the many individuals pardoned by Trump over his involvement in Jan. 6. Federal prosecutors are still working on a separate case involving Taranto regarding his conviction for firearms and threat charges related to his <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/man-guns-arrested-obama-home-attempted-evade-secret\/story?id=100721557\">2023 arrest<\/a> near Obama&rsquo;s home. Taranto is set to be sentenced for those charges later this week.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to the DOJ for comment, but did not receive a response.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In their 14-page memo on Taranto&rsquo;s case, Valdivia and White urged U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols to sentence Taranto to more than two years in prison, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/10\/29\/jan-6-prosecutors-case-leave-00627086\">according to<\/a> <em>Politico<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors also briefly noted Taranto&rsquo;s involvement on Jan. 6, writing, &ldquo;Taranto returned to his home in the State of Washington, where he promoted conspiracy theories about the events of January 6, 2021.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump and his allies have often argued that critics have construed Jan. 6 into a bigger deal than it was, and have expressed concern about <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/3828384\/trump-expects-doj-wray-investigation-january-6\/\">FBI involvement in the incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has said only &ldquo;a tiny percentage&rdquo; of the massive crowds who attended his speech at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., actually violated the law and broke into the Capitol building. A portion of those who attended the speech walked over to the Capitol afterward. However, Trump has suggested that only a fraction of those &ldquo;peaceful&rdquo; protesters were involved in any violence or breaking into the building.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3855152\/trump-building-smart-wall-on-border-what-does-that-mean\/\">TRUMP IS BUILDING A SMART WALL ON THE BORDER. HERE&rsquo;S WHAT THAT MEANS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While Trump <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/msnbc\/watch\/jan-6-committee-plays-raw-tape-of-trump-s-address-the-day-after-capitol-riot-144560709523\">has said<\/a> &ldquo;those who broke the law, you will pay,&rdquo; he has also argued that most of those charged with crimes for Jan. 6 were innocent &ldquo;victims,&rdquo; &ldquo;hostages,&rdquo; &ldquo;patriots,&rdquo; and &ldquo;warriors,&rdquo; targeted by a partisan DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You had hundreds of thousands of people come to Washington,&rdquo; he said during a<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=F3tvZi5fTZw\"> Univision town hall <\/a>last October. &ldquo;They thought the election was a rigged election, and that&rsquo;s why they came. Some of those people went down to the Capitol, I said, peacefully and patriotically. Nothing done wrong at all &hellip; these are people that walked down &mdash;&nbsp;this [insurrectionists] was a tiny percentage of the overall, which nobody sees and nobody shows.
