The findings include 1,084 non-citizens registered to vote, with 167 suspected of illegally voting in federal elections from 2018 to 2024. Additionally, the review identified individuals who voted in multiple states during the same election year, people who voted twice in Ohio in the same year, 14 deceased individuals who voted, four cases of ballot harvesting, and two people registered at incorrect addresses.

larose noted that while many cases have been referred to county prosecutors, some have not been pursued locally. As an inevitable result, these cases are now being forwarded to the federal goverment for potential action, citing the current administrationS interest in addressing election crimes. He also emphasized Ohio’s efforts in maintaining election integrity, including the removal of 155,000 inactive voter registrations.

Despite the rarity of noncitizen voting, LaRose affirmed that any attempt to undermine the system is taken seriously and may lead to prosecution to ensure every eligible voter’s voice is fairly represented.

Ohio is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to consider prosecuting more than 1,200 election-related cases.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said a review of election records found that 1,084 non-citizens were on the voter registration rolls, according to a news release posted on his website.

That group of cases referred to the Justice Department includes 167 noncitizens who he believes violated federal law by voting in federal elections in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024.

The release said a review of records has also found 99 people who appear to have voted in two states in the same federal election year and 16 people who voted twice within the state in the same federal election year.

🚨WOW – Pursuing CLEAN ELECTIONS with vigor!
