His ambiguity has stirred controversy, given constitutional restrictions in the 22nd and 12th amendments on such a move.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As he flew to South Korea for the latest leg of his trip to Asia on Wednesday, Trump provided some closure on the matter, saying that the Constitution is &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gaetz-is-not-the-only-trump-nominee-who-faces-danger-in-confirmation-tiana-lowe-doescher-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Gaetz is not the only ... nominee who faces \u2018danger\u2019 in confirmation: Tiana Lowe Doescher - Washington Examiner\">pretty clear&#038;rdquo<\/a>; he&rsquo;s &ldquo;not allowed&rdquo; to assume the presidency again.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a very interesting thing. I have the best numbers for any president in many years,&rdquo; Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And I would say that, if you read [the Constitution], it&rsquo;s pretty clear. I&rsquo;m not allowed to run. It&rsquo;s too bad,&rdquo; Trump added. &ldquo;But we have a lot of great people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The 22nd Amendment states that &ldquo;no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, the idea of Trump running as vice president and then assuming the position of president again if elected has been raised as a loophole to the constitutional restriction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Legal experts are divided over whether the 22nd Amendment would bar such a scenario, due to arguments that there is room for different interpretations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, Trump ruled out the idea on Monday, saying it was &ldquo;too cute.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I would rule that out because it&rsquo;s too cute. the president said. &ldquo;I haven&rsquo;t really thought about it,&rdquo; he added, before naming other leading Republican figures, such as Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as optimal candidates for a 2028 run.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said Tuesday that Trump &ldquo;knows&rdquo;
