She also suggested that dissatisfaction over the shutdown is reaching Trump himself.

House Speaker Mike Johnson responded by defending the party’s efforts and President Trump’s achievements, questioning the usefulness of Greene airing grievances publicly. Though, Greene continued her criticisms on social media, demanding specifics on the GOP’s healthcare plans and expressing frustration with the house being out of session. She highlighted her own vote to fund the government and pointed out that both parties in the senate share duty for the shutdown. Greene also stated she would not except a paycheck during the shutdown, underlining the urgency she feels to resolve the political impasse and return Congress to work.

One of the most ardent and earliest supporters of the MAGA movement appears to be running out of patience with her peers — and perhaps even her president.

GOP Georgia Rep. She argued that the GOP is wasting its Congressional majority by refusing to actually meet its constituents and hear from them, and that this ongoing government shutdown — She also criticized the ongoing government shutdown, saying that despite Democrats being blamed, it still damages the party’s reputation.

“You all need to leave Washington, D.C., return to your districts, and speak with real people because they are angry,” Greene told House GOP leaders. “They expect us to fulfill our legislative duties under the Constitution rather than follow orders from the White House political team.” After highlighting her early support for Trumpism, Greene added sharply that some criticism about the shutdown and legislative inaction has even reached Donald Trump himself: “Even the president is losing support.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly pushed back against Greene’s remarks by praising both GOP achievements and President Trump’s record. “He’s not sleeping; I’m not sleeping… we’re working around the clock,” Johnson said. He also questioned Greene for airing grievances publicly: “How does that help us, Marjorie?” However, Greene responded defiantly on social media:

“You left out that I said I have no respect for the House not being in session passing our bills and presidential executive orders,” she wrote. “I demanded Speaker Johnson explain what Republican plan exists for healthcare-to create an off-ramp from Obamacare and ACA tax credits so health insurance becomes affordable.” She added that while Johnson claimed committees were working on ideas behind closed doors, he refused to share any policy proposals during their own conference call.

Earlier on X (formerly Twitter), Greene emphasized how critical resolving this government shutdown is-and getting lawmakers back to work-while blaming both parties rather than just Democrats:

“As a member of the House, I voted YES at September’s end to fund government; now it’s up to Senate,” she posted. “I have not taken-and will not take-a paycheck during this shutdown. As I’ve said from day one: this political drama can be quickly resolved if both Senate Democrats and Republicans act.”

In summary: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced growing frustration within GOP ranks over legislative gridlock amid a government shutdown-calling out fellow Republicans for failing their constituents-and challenged leadership publicly despite pushback from Speaker Johnson

[33651
39629,8508,5894
post-2504116","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-government-shutdown","tag-mtg","tag-politics
["GET
