the Republican-run Judiciary Committee announced in a post on the social media platform X.<\/p>\n<p>More than 160 Republicans, including lawmakers and party officials around the country, were targeted in the sweeping probe, the website <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/160-republicans-potentially-investigated-fbis-arctic-frost-inquiry-house-gop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just the News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The ostensible reason for the probe was to investigate the events surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion. But like just about everything related to Jan. 6, its scope appeared to go well beyond that day.<\/p>\n<p>According to Just the News, the FBI under then-Director Christopher Wray was interviewing, serving subpoenas on, or executing digital search warrants on Republican officials in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Also targeted were Republican-allied groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-furious-newly-released-documents-show-biden-admin-targeted-charlie-kirks-turning-point-usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turning Point USA<\/a>, the conservative activist organization founded by the now-assassinated Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n<p>Does that sound like a principled investigation focused on potential and actual threats to the country? Or does it sound like an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >open-ended fishing expedition aimed<\/a> at political enemies of the party then in power?<\/p>\n<p>It seems like ancient history now, with Trump&rsquo;s return to the White House, but it was only a few years ago that Nancy Pelosi had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elon-musk-destroys-jan-6-committee-tucker-carlson-s-narrative-shattering-new-footage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hand-picked committee<\/a> shamelessly attempting to turn the Jan. 6 incursion &mdash; a melee on Capitol Hill that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/live-updates\/jan-6-capitol-riot-timeline-key-moments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lasted about six hours<\/a> &mdash; into the equivalent of the four years of devastation the country endured in the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p>And at the same time, it turns out, Wray&rsquo;s FBI and Garland&rsquo;s Justice Department were engaged in a nationwide witch hunt for anyone who might have been involved.<\/p>\n<p>That probe turned into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jack-smiths-evidence-made-public-judge-chutkans-election-interference-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&ldquo;election interference&rdquo; case<\/a> against Trump that was concocted by now-former special counsel Jack Smith.<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s little new to &ldquo;news&rdquo; about the lawfare involved against Trump and his immediate associates.<\/p>\n<p>For the four years between Joe Biden&rsquo;s inauguration and Trump&rsquo;s return to the White House, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/vance-says-voters-agree-on-foreign-policy-immigration-and-keeping-jobs-in-us-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Vance says voters agree on foreign policy, immigration, and keeping jobs in US ...
