The lawsuit alleges that the companies knew for decades about the dangers of acetaminophen exposure to unborn and young children but deceptively marketed Tylenol as safe for pregnant women.Paxton claims that Johnson &#038; Johnson transferred Tylenol-related liabilities to Kenvue to avoid accountability. Yet they hid this danger and deceptively marketed Tylenol as the only safe painkiller for pregnant women, violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act,&rdquo; the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/press\/Lawsuit.pdf\">lawsuit<\/a> reads. <\/p>\n<p>Johnson &amp; Johnson created the independent company Kenvue in August 2023, giving the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jnj.com\/media-center\/press-releases\/johnson-johnson-announces-kenvue-as-the-name-for-planned-new-consumer-health-company\">spinoff<\/a> control of its brands such as Tylenol, Band-Aid, Neutrogena, and Listerine. Paxton alleged the company &ldquo;fraudulently transferred its Tylenol-related liabilities to Kenvue&rdquo; in an effort &ldquo;to shield its ill-gotten assets from the families they harmed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Johnson &amp; Johnson &ldquo;divested its consumer health business years ago, and all rights and liabilities associated with the sale of its over-the-counter products, including Tylenol (acetaminophen), are owned by Kenvue,&rdquo; a spokesperson for the company said in a statement to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/28\/health\/tylenol-autism-texas-lawsuit.html\">the<\/a><em><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/28\/health\/tylenol-autism-texas-lawsuit.html\">  New York Times<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton filed the lawsuit on two counts, alleging the companies violated both Texas&rsquo;s Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act and its Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Big Pharma betrayed America by profiting off of pain and pushing pills regardless of the risks. These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets,&rdquo; Paxton said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3844334\/rfk-jr-tylenol-circumcision-autism-link\/\">RFK JR.
