The DOJ said the move to focus on two Democrat-led states will &ldquo;ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Transparency at the polls translates into faith in the electoral process, and this Department of Justice is committed to upholding the highest standards of election integrity,&rdquo; Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While the practice of sending federal election monitors into local jurisdictions isn&rsquo;t new, it comes at a time when Trump has tried to assert more federal authority over elections in the lead-up to next year&rsquo;s midterm elections,&nbsp;which could shift control of the House to Democrats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has also pushed to obtain personal&nbsp;information on millions of voters across America. <\/p>\n<p>State election officials said they have received letters from Harmeet Dhillon, who oversees the DOJ&rsquo;s Civil Rights Division, asking for unredacted copies of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/politico-warns-of-hackers-undermining-midterms-after-mocking-security-concerns-in-2020-election\/\" title=\"Politico Warns of Hackers Undermining Midterms After Mocking ... Concerns in 2020 Election\">voter registration databases<\/a> that include names, addresses, driver&rsquo;s license numbers, and the last four digits of a voter&rsquo;s Social Security number.
