Conducted by Noble Predictive Insights, the survey of 766 registered voters found Lombardo leading narrowly with 40% support to Ford&#8217;s 37%, while 23% remain undecided.The election centers on economic issues such as cost of living, housing affordability, and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >rising grocery prices-key concerns<\/a> for Nevada voters.Ford is focusing his campaign on these pocketbook issues and holds a meaningful lead among latino voters, a crucial demographic for the election outcome. Noble Predictive Insights said the poll had a 3.54% margin of error.<\/p>\n<p>The pollsters also found that voters slightly favored the Democratic Party over the Republican Party, but that Lombardo was able to more than make up the difference with his own popularity.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-plays-the-political-long-game-ahead-of-2024-and-beyond\/\" title=\"Newsom strategizes for future political success beyond 2024.\">perennial battleground state<\/a>, so it&rsquo;s not uncommon that you&rsquo;re going to have these very competitive races,&rdquo; said Noble. &ldquo;You&rsquo;re typically not going to win by a mile unless you&rsquo;ve done some incredible things, and so I think this is kind of par for the course.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 Nevada gubernatorial election saw then-Clark County Sheriff Lombardo edge out Democratic incumbent Steve Sisolak by about 15,000 votes, in an election with over 1 million total votes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today, Nevadans face their share of economic challenges.&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/nevada\/article_0b1d6f90-ef0c-4818-b119-b390b6a4fdc7.html\">Grocery store prices<\/a>&nbsp;are among the highest in the country, according to a&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lendingtree.com\/debt-consolidation\/organic-vs-conventional-study\/\">LendingTree study<\/a>. And a&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/home-prices-cool-still-at-record-may-high\/\">Redfin report<\/a>&nbsp;noted&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/nevada\/article_f59a08be-a974-493c-9f44-4d63aa823a31.html\">housing prices in the Las Vegas area<\/a>&nbsp;have skyrocketed to an all-time high in recent years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Nevadans are looking for tangible solutions to everyday challenges,&rdquo; Noble noted. &ldquo;The candidate who connects on affordability will likely carry the momentum into 2026.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The demographic group most likely to swing with this topic is Hispanic and Latino voters in the Silver State, Noble said. &ldquo;They&rsquo;re usually a lower turnout group. To get them to turn out and vote his way on the pocketbook, I think there&rsquo;s a big opportunity there for Ford.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Ford, who has so far focused his campaign on the economic woes under Lombardo, according to Noble, has an early lead with Latino voters. While Lombardo has strongholds in the suburbs, among independents, and in Clark County, Ford vastly outstripped the incumbent by 23 points among Latino voters in the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Ford nor Lombardo&rsquo;s campaign office responded to The Center Square&rsquo;s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Nevada&rsquo;s gubernatorial general election takes place Nov. 3, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The primary election will take place June 9, 2026, and will include Republican candidate Matthew Winterhawk and Democratic candidate Alexis Hill, a Washoe County commissioner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/premium\/3860864\/wesley-hunt-unfazed-critics-texas-gop-senate-primary\/\">WESLEY HUNT UNFAZED BY CRITICS OF HIS ENTRY INTO MESSY TEXAS GOP SENATE PRIMARY<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Democrats currently have majorities in both houses of the Legislature, but lack enough seats to override vetoes by Republican Gov. Lombardo. If Democrats keep control of the Legislature, a win by Democratic Attorney General Ford likely would make it easier for them to pass bills.<\/p>\n<p>Lombardo looks to be the first Nevada governor to possibly win a reelection campaign since Republican Gov.
