He threatened to leave the morning press conference if reporters&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-you-should-let-someone-set-you-up-on-a-date\/\" title=\"Why You Should Let Someone ... You Up On A Date\">questions weren&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t &ldquo;on topic.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The high-profile endorsement is slated to come two days before early voting starts in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think that it is imperative to really wake up the Black and brown communities that have suffered from gentrification on how important this race is,&rdquo; Adams&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/23\/nyregion\/adams-endorse-cuomo-nyc-mayor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told the&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em><\/a>,&nbsp;confirming his coming endorsement of Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They have watched their rents increase in terms of gentrification and they have been disregarded in those neighborhoods,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;And I&rsquo;m going to go to those neighborhoods and speak one on one with organizers and groups and I&rsquo;m going to walk with the governor in those neighborhoods and get them engaged.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Adams dropped out of the mayoral race late last month. The incumbent was rumored to back Cuomo over the Republican nominee, Curtis Sliwa, who remains behind in the polls.<\/p>\n<p>In the three-way race as it stands, Mamdani remains the front-runner. However, if Sliwa were to suspend his campaign, Cuomo would gain on Mamdani and make the matchup virtually neck-and-neck. Sliwa has vowed to stay in the race despite outside pressure.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3860923\/cuomo-sliwa-mamdani-final-nyc-mayoral-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CUOMO AND SLIWA TURN UP HEAT ON MAMDANI IN FINAL NYC MAYORAL DEBATE BEFORE EARLY VOTING<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adams has vocally opposed Mamdani&rsquo;s socialist policies if he were to win.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Adams said he is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3852950\/eric-adams-fielding-three-job-offers-after-term-expires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">actively fielding<\/a> multiple job offers after his single term expires in January.
