Between August and October, Thornton sent nine intimidating emails to Karofsky, including messages demanding she &#8220;eject yourself from office&#8221; and requesting her home address be made public. The harassment appears linked to his dissatisfaction with how the Wisconsin Supreme Court Office of Lawyer regulation handled a complaint about an attorney he had hired in a 2019 strangulation case, which ultimately led to his conviction after he fired that attorney. Thornton also made over 70 calls to the regulatory office. During his booking on unrelated charges earlier in October, he made further threats against Karofsky and alluded to a conspiracy. One of the emails, per the criminal complaint, stated, &ldquo;Please EJECT YOURSELF FROM OFFICE.&rdquo; Karofsky became chief justice of Wisconsin&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hollywood-celebs-rage-in-defeat-after-barrett-confirmation-revolting-disgraceful-unconscionable\/\" title=\"Hollywood Celebs Rage in Defeat After Barrett Confirmation: ...Revolting. After firing his attorney, Thornton was ultimately convicted.<\/p>\n<p>In the two-month period, he called the Office of Lawyer Regulation more than 70 times to complain about the attorney. The chief justice said she never interacted with the man.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Thornton was arrested in Racine County on unrelated disorderly conduct and bail jumping charges. He was later transferred to Dane County, where his case is being held.<\/p>\n<p>During the booking process, Thornton said Karofsky was &ldquo;going down.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He also told investigators to call President Donald Trump and said Karofsky &ldquo;better start running or something for the hills of the feds because it&rsquo;s a conspiracy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3858337\/pardoned-jan-6-participant-arrested-threatening-kill-hakeem-jeffries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PARDONED JAN. 6 PARTICIPANT ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY THREATENING TO &lsquo;ELIMINATE&rsquo; HAKEEM JEFFRIES<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thornton made his <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >initial court appearance<\/a> on Monday, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 28. If convicted, the defendant could face three and a half years in prison for the stalking charge.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin justices and judges have received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wispolitics.com\/2025\/credible-threats-against-judges-justices-on-the-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">numerous threats<\/a> in recent years in today&rsquo;s politically charged climate.
