Duffy emphasized the need for competition to win the space race against China, but Musk pushed back, pointing out that Blue Origin has never delivered payloads to orbit or the moon. The conflict escalated on social media with Musk mocking Duffy&#8217;s intelligence and questioning his capability to led America&#8217;s space program. Duffy, appointed temporary NASA administrator in July, pledged to prioritize space exploration above other policy areas.
