Despite Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) keeping the House out of session since passing a stopgap funding measure<\/a> through November 21, Thune highlighted the increasing challenges as time runs out to fund the government. The shutdown is partly prolonged by Senate gridlock over extending expiring Obamacare subsidies.
