Although Trump was nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize by several world leaders, most nominations came after the deadline, and the prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who dedicated her award to Trump for his peace efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Van Orden criticized the Nobel Committee for overlooking Trump&#8217;s achievements and proposed the congressional Gold Medal as a fitting recognition of his dedication to peace. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana plan to jointly nominate trump for next year&#8217;s Nobel Peace Prize. Other international leaders, including Prime Ministers and Presidents from various countries, have also supported nominating Trump for the award.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) introduced a congressional resolution supporting Trump&#8217;s Nobel Peace Prize candidacy, highlighting his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-cawthorn-criticizes-dems-push-for-gun-control\/\" title=\".... From brokering ceasefires in the Middle East to resolving long-standing conflicts in Europe, Africa, and Asia, his leadership has saved countless lives and restored stability in regions torn by war,&rdquo; Van Orden said in a statement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Van Orden said this week he is introducing the bill because Trump didn&rsquo;t win this year&rsquo;s Nobel Peace Prize. Multiple world leaders and other figures nominated Trump in 2025, but most came after the Jan. 31 deadline.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump said Friday he didn&rsquo;t particularly care about winning the award so much as bringing peace to war-torn countries.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Every time I solve a war, they say, &lsquo;If you solve the next one, you&rsquo;re gonna get the Nobel!&rsquo; &hellip; I don&rsquo;t care about all that stuff. I just care about saving lives,&rdquo; he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricLDaugh\/status\/1979247467528114282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told reporters <\/a>at the White House. &ldquo;I love solving wars. You know why? I like stopping people from being killed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado won the coveted prize earlier this month. Machado <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3845638\/nobel-peace-prize-winner-machado-dedicates-award-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chose to dedicate <\/a>the award to Trump because she said &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricLDaugh\/status\/1977016922131619944\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he deserves it<\/a>,&rdquo; not only because he has been involved &ldquo;in solving 8 wars, but his actions have been decisive to have Venezuela now at a threshold of freedom after 26 years of tyranny.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Van Orden suggested the committee should have selected Trump for his role in making eight peace deals, including agreements between Israel and Hamas, Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Cambodia and Thailand, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Serbia and Kosovo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Despite these extraordinary accomplishments, the Nobel Peace Prize has failed to recognize him, an honor he clearly deserves. That is why I introduced this bill to award President Trump the Congressional Gold Medal, a fitting recognition of President Trump&rsquo;s historic leadership and his enduring, unwavering dedication to achieving peace through strength,&rdquo; Van Orden said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump has long <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3843471\/trump-2025-nobel-peace-prize-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ruminated <\/a>on his desire to win the prize.
