Adam Mathews called Berry&#8217;s statements inflammatory adn egregious, demanding his resignation and introducing a resolution to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gaetz-requests-information-from-mayorkas-on-illegal-immigrants-harming-first-responders\/\" title=\"Gaetz seeks details from Mayorkas on illegal immigrants endangering first responders.\">begin removal proceedings<\/a> after Berry refused to step down. Berry&#8217;s comments, wich included references to &#8220;karma&#8221; and gun violence, have been widely condemned as misconduct and violations of judicial ethics. Rep. D.J. Swearingen also criticized Berry&#8217;s refusal to resign, stating that the legislature must act to maintain public trust in the judiciary. Previously, Berry was reprimanded for inappropriate conduct involving court employees. Berry is the son of Cincinnati&#8217;s first Black mayor, Theodore M. berry. He is the son of Theodore M. Berry, the first Black mayor of Cincinnati.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Judge Berry has had more than a month to take the honorable path and resign,&rdquo; Mathews said in a release. &ldquo;The people of Ohio deserve a judiciary they can trust to be fair, unbiased, and beyond reproach. Judge Berry&rsquo;s actions have fallen far short of that sacred trust, and now the Legislature must act to defend the courts.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kirk, posthumously awarded&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/national\/article_7dd52994-0a34-4a07-a602-f3999179ebbe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Presidential Medal of Freedom<\/a>&nbsp;earlier this week by second-term Republican President Donald Trump, was gunned down during a campus event in Utah in September. Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA and was known for active engagement in civil debate with those in disagreement with him.<\/p>\n<p>Media reports have shown Berry&rsquo;s comments included &ldquo;reds in Hatred &amp; Division,&rdquo; &ldquo;How&rsquo;s he feel about gun violence &amp; gun control in Hell now,&rdquo; and &ldquo;So, a white guy killed him! Color it KARMA!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. D.J.
