This error was due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-public-health-agencies-are-skewing-the-covid-vax-statistics\/\" title=\"How Public ... Agencies Are Skewing the COVID Vax Statistics\">data discrepancies<\/a> and processing mistakes, according to HHS Chief Human Capital Officer Thomas Nagy Jr. Employees who received incorrect notices have been informed that they are not subject to layoffs and continue to work at the agency. The final number of RIF notices that have been issued to HHS employees is 982,&rdquo; Nagy wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Nagy&rsquo;s statement came after news broke on Friday of the Trump administration&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3844593\/white-house-announces-federal-government-worker-layoffs-begun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduction-in-force<\/a> measures in response to the government shutdown, which included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/11\/us\/politics\/trump-administration-cdc-layoffs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dozens <\/a>of officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The RIF notices, which came from Nagy, say the decision &ldquo;does not reflect directly on your service, performance or conduct,&rdquo; according to the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/11\/us\/politics\/trump-administration-cdc-layoffs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Times<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The employees who received incorrect notifications were never separated from the agency and have all been notified that they are not subject to the reduction in force. All HHS employees receiving reduction-in-force notices were designated non-essential by their respective divisions,&rdquo; an HHS spokesperson said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Nagy did not specify in the court declaration which employees&rsquo; notices were rescinded. The American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations, which is a plaintiff in the lawsuit against the RIFs, took to X on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Firing CDC workers then scrambling to reinstate them while still firing others is creating chaos in workers&rsquo; lives and putting communities across the country in danger. Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3834005\/trump-meet-vought-project-2025-fame-determine-agency-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">met with Vought<\/a> about potential federal worker layoffs on Oct. 2, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/russvought\/status\/1976686105199268177\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RIFs began<\/a> eight days later.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can&rsquo;t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity,&rdquo; Trump wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115304455138824245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Truth Social<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3844593\/white-house-announces-federal-government-worker-layoffs-begun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">added<\/a> on Friday that the layoffs Vought authorized were &ldquo;Democrat-oriented.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The unions, which initially filed a lawsuit against the administration over the possible reduction-in-force measures in September due to the impending shutdown, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AFGENational\/status\/1976691283705114927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed<\/a> a supplemental temporary restraining order motion on Oct. 10 once the layoffs were announced.
