In her first public comments on the footage, Porter acknowledged she could have handled the situations better and emphasized her appreciation for her staff&#8217;s work. The videos, including one where she told a staffer to &#8220;get out of my shot&#8221; during an on-camera meeting, have <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >drawn significant backlash<\/a>, particularly from her gubernatorial opponents. She grew frustrated with the reporter&rsquo;s questions, telling the interviewer she didn&rsquo;t want to have an &ldquo;unhappy experience&rdquo; before expressing her wish for the whole interview not to be filmed.<\/p>\n<p>Despite her visible irritation, Porter&rsquo;s campaign said she did not walk out of the interview.<\/p>\n<p>The former House Democrat also drew backlash after she was seen yelling at a staffer who interrupted an <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlexThomp\/status\/1976046040097956261\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on-camera meeting<\/a> in 2021 with then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Get out of my f***ing shot!&rdquo; Porter said after the employee appeared in the background. &ldquo;You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot.&rdquo; She revealed the staffer later received an apology.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the criticism has originated from Porter&rsquo;s gubernatorial opponents, who are looking to knock her down as she runs to succeed Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gavin-newsom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gavin Newsom<\/a> (D-CA) in the 2026 election.<\/p>\n<p>Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZIpwjEec8Ls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">began airing ads<\/a> last week that captured the heated exchange between Porter and CBS Sacramento reporter Julie Watts. At the end of the message, Villaraigosa said, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Antonio Villaraigosa. I approve this ad because we need leaders who will solve hard problems and will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-reportedly-perplexed-by-kamala-harris-first-foreign-policy-trip\/\" title=\"White House Reportedly \u2018Perplexed\u2019 By Kamala Harris\u2019 First Foreign Policy Trip\">answer simple questions<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Businessman Stephen Cloobeck also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stephenjcloobeck\/videos\/she-snaps-at-reporters-i-snap-when-the-customers-of-california-get-shortchanged-\/3984156995168320\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aired ads<\/a> that feature clips of Porter&rsquo;s interview with Watts. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;She snaps at reporters.
