Trump helped negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and aims to facilitate peace efforts in Eastern Europe as well. Zelensky congratulated Trump on the Middle East agreement and suggested that stopping one war could lead to resolving others, including the conflict with Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky shared in a social media post that he discussed with Trump Russia&#8217;s ongoing attacks on Ukraine&#8217;s energy infrastructure and explored ways to strengthen Ukraine&#8217;s air defenses with U.S. support. Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >stalled peace negotiations<\/a> with russia, and ongoing conflict causing heavy casualties, Zelensky believes peace talks can succeed if Ukraine remains strong.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has indicated his intention to help end wars,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-candidates-husband-locks-down-social-media-over-anti-christian-posts\/\" title=\"Dem Candidate\u2019s Husband Locks Down Social Media Over Anti-Christian ...s\">expressing hope<\/a> that he can bring Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky to a peace agreement. If a war can be stopped in one region, then surely other wars can be stopped as well&mdash;including the Russian war,&rdquo; he wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZelenskyyUa\/status\/1976999698457133555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post on X.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The war in Ukraine has been continuing for more than 3.5 years, with at least hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers dead. Trump tried to jumpstart peace talks with Russia with Russian President Vladimir Putin during an Alaskan summit in August, but negotiations have stalled.<\/p>\n<p>Kai Trump, the president&rsquo;s granddaughter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HtTevWBoRfI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted a video Saturday <\/a>of her playing golf with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, she asks how Trump&rsquo;s second stint in the White House is going. Here\u2019s What Actually Happened.\">president claims<\/a> he&rsquo;s stopped seven wars, and then says, &ldquo;Hopefully, we get Putin and Zelensky to stop killing everybody.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s statement signals the war is still on his mind. Zelensky said in his call with the president that Russia has been attacking Ukrainian energy systems. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I informed President Trump about Russia&rsquo;s attacks on our energy system&mdash;and I appreciate his willingness to support us. We discussed opportunities to bolster our air defense, as well as concrete agreements that we are working on to ensure this. There are good options and solid ideas on how to truly strengthen us,&rdquo; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that the readiness for peace talks with Russia &ldquo;can be achieved through strength.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The president had been at an impasse with Ukraine over a deal that doesn&rsquo;t include retention of their territory, which was a non-starter for Ukraine, but he&rsquo;s crept closer to the Ukrainian position.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine\/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form,&rdquo; Trump&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115255130298104593\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a>&nbsp;on Truth Social in late September.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>International observers of the war believe Trump will need to step in for peace negotiations to be jump-started.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3845462\/gaza-ceasefire-takes-effect-ending-fighting-after-two-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GAZA CEASEFIRE TAKES EFFECT, ENDING FIGHTING AFTER OVER TWO YEARS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Talks &ldquo;are dead unless something dramatic happens &mdash; Jenny Mathers, a lecturer in international politics at the U.K.&rsquo;s Aberystwyth University, told the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/russia-ukraine-peace-talks-are-dead-for-now-but-were-they-ever-alive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kyiv Independent.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At the moment, Moscow believes it has more to gain from continuing its attacks on Ukraine than from peace talks, and while Kyiv has agreed to restart talks on numerous occasions, Ukraine cannot afford to stop resisting Russian attacks or indeed to give in to any and all Russian demands just for the sake of a cessation of hostilities that would probably prove to be short-lived and perhaps entirely meaningless,&rdquo;
