They were in agreement with the guilty plea and sentence,&rdquo; Robert Kittle, communications director with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pharmacist-blamed-for-deaths-in-us-meningitis-outbreak-will-plead-no-contest-in-michigan-case-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Pharmacist blamed for deaths in US meningitis outbreak will plead no contest in Michigan case - Washington Examiner\">state attorney general&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s office, told Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>But the state prosecutes crimes on behalf of all South Carolinians, not on behalf of any one family.<\/p>\n<p>A deadly hit-and-run is not a personal grievance, but a public crime.<\/p>\n<p>And when the offender is in the country illegally, the court&rsquo;s duty to uphold the law should be even clearer.<\/p>\n<p>WIS-TV reported that Fernandez-Cruz originally faced charges for driving without a license, failure to yield, and failure to render aid. All of those charges were dismissed once he pleaded guilty to the main count.<\/p>\n<p>There was no plea deal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wistv.com\/2025\/10\/07\/man-idd-undocumented-immigrant-pleads-guilty-gets-prison-time-crash-that-killed-usc-student\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> WIS.
