A medical helicopter operated by REACH Air Medical Services crashed on the eastbound lane of Highway 50 in Sacramento, California, on Monday evening after experiencing an in -air emergency<\/a>. The helicopter was returning from transporting a patient to a nearby hospital when the crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. The pilot, nurse, and paramedic onboard were all injured, with one person trapped under the helicopter and rescued by frist responders and bystanders. All three were transported to the hospital in critical condition. No motorists on the highway were harmed. The helicopter company is investigating the incident and confirmed there was no patient onboard at the time.
