service dedicated to kicking off the judicial year. According to authorities, he was a <a href=\"https:\/\/mpdc.dc.gov\/release\/mpd-statement-arrest-outside-st-matthew%E2%80%99s-cathedral\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeat offender of a premises ban<\/a> who was found with suspicious materials, including &ldquo;vials of liquid and possible fireworks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-655666859\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department&rsquo;s Explosive Ordinance Disposal team and Arson Task Force following Geri&rsquo;s arrest&nbsp;yielded at least one Molotov cocktail, an incendiary weapon often described and treated by law enforcement as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/technology\/Molotov-cocktail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;crude bomb,&rdquo;<\/a> tucked away in his belongings. <\/p>\n<p>The discovery not only prompted law enforcement to charge Geri with &ldquo;unlawful entry&rdquo; for violating the premises ban and &ldquo;possession of a Molotov cocktail,&rdquo; but also &ldquo;threats to kidnap or injure.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As the news developed, WaPo debuted an updated version of the same headline, which further downplayed Geri&rsquo;s plot and arrest by referring to him as a mere &ldquo;man with a tent.&rdquo; In the text of the article, WaPo emphasized that &ldquo;it was not clear why the man was at the cathedral, why he had the items, or why police thought he had a Molotov cocktail, a type of firebomb.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"ObciKauN\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Update: they edited it and made it even worse! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VEzW3S7vvU\">https:\/\/t.co\/VEzW3S7vvU<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZR4xUhERs4\">pic.twitter.com\/ZR4xUhERs4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Elle Reynolds Purnell (@_ellepurnell) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_ellepurnell\/status\/1975171640519545041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 6, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Geri&rsquo;s arrest came mere days after a left-wing judge <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/06\/man-arrested-for-explosives-at-judiciary-mass-days-after-kavanaugh-attacker-got-light-sentence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">awarded<\/a> Justice Brett Kavanaugh&rsquo;s would-be assassin an unprecedentedly short sentence. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/04\/biden-judge-gives-would-be-kavanaugh-assassin-light-sentence-as-left-wing-violence-skyrockets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deborah Boardman<\/a>&nbsp;gave&nbsp;Nicholas Roske, a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/09\/22\/transgender-violence-is-a-national-emergency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">man masquerading as a woman<\/a>, only eight years in prison despite his plot to break in, pepper-spray, duct tape, and gun down Kavanaugh and his family. Trump&rsquo;s Department of Justice recently announced it will appeal the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1974244241590165691\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;woefully insufficient sentence.&rdquo;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time the WaPo hoaxers have minimized violence against conservatives or Americans in general. In September, the outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/09\/09\/a-woman-is-murdered-and-the-media-rush-to-defend-democrats-by-calling-it-political\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brushed past<\/a> the extensive criminal past of the man suspected of brutally murdering Iryna Zarutska in favor of smearing President Donald Trump and Republicans.
